Our vision is simple.

We want to make a difference in education.

Educators need to innovate… constantly.

With all the new technology at our disposal, it’s even more imperative that we do not overwhelm our students with too many options.

Our ebook courses are succinct, engaging and immersive so that students walk away with a better appreciation for our world and know how their interests relate to the natural world.

Where possible, we teach on location as if the students were on a field trip.

Who is myScienceBlast?

We are a team of educators and individuals who come together to solve the “student engagement” problem. Mike Kozuch, a geophysicist by training, first initiated the project, and over time has invited other university faculty to participate in some of his video creations that eventually evolved into online courses.

myScienceBlast was conceived out of a desire to improve student engagement with course material the way educators envisioned.

There had to be a way. And there was.

Our format was not conceived overnight. It took several years, numerous student surveys, as well as trial and error to figure out what worked best for both students and faculty. In fact, we are still updating and upgrading our content to keep our material fresh and current.

And that, my friends, is how myScienceBlast got started and became what it is today.

Where does the name come from?

We wanted to have a name that reflects the excitement we feel for science as well a name that wasn’t already taken. Somehow, “myScienceBlast” fit the bill.

So, perk up your day with a blast of science.

One day I was playing with rocks on the coast of Maine and happened to lay them out in the shape of a sea star.

This was the design that inspired our logo, a design and materials that reflect both geology and the ocean.
