  • round boulders on a beach.

Do you ever see cool images on Instagram and wonder what they are, how they got there or even where they are? A lot of people never give you enough information about what you are seeing. Well, we do. You’ll see images and video posted on a regular basis covering various random topics about the earth and ocean. These posts can be part of your in-class discussion, but more importantly we aim to bring some of the more interesting things in nature to your attention and with a little explanation.

  • a green glowing sea anemone.

Our YouTube channel contains video on a variety of topics and is not just limited to earth and ocean sciences. Here you will find clips on anything from biofluorescence to stink bugs. This is our way of experimenting with new material or whatever happens to interest us at any given time. So, check out those videos and make sure to “subscribe” to that channel. It doesn’t cost a thing and you might actually come away with impressing your friends with some unique new science trivia.

  • conical color spirals that are actually worms.

Did you know these little spiral critters are actually a type of marine worm? Didn’t think so. And how would you? Here is where we go crazy and find some of the most wild and exotic imagery that we have bookmarked just for fun. This collection of Pinterest imagery has loads of interesting material that can supply you with even more material for discussions or your courses. So go have fun and see what the global community has pulled together.

Up close or far away. We got it covered.
